Notes & Ties

Yale-NUS’ first pop acappella group took a while to find a name — in fact, it was only after votes for names were tied for the gazillionth time that everyone decided that it would be better to replace the stifling democracy with a Sautatorship. The eponymous ringleader Sau herself proclaimed her group the “Notes & Ties”, and the rest was history. The group has since performed for a variety of events such as Yale-NUS’s Open Day and Singapore’s “Youth Voices” Vocal Music Fest. The group also boasts a diverse repertoire of songs, from eclectic pop tunes such as MJ’s Thriller and Fun’s Some Nights to softer, mellower melodies such as Zedd’s Clarity and Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know.
